Listen to lullabies sung by amateurs and professionals & learn the lyrics. Kids of ALL ages love lullabies. Remember, you can sing all or only part of a song. You can alter songs anyway you and your children want to. Make up your own lyrics. Most importantly, don't be afraid to sing! If I can sing to my children, so can you.

Lyrics:
Lullaby my baby Let me sing good night Though the day is fading New one will be waiting You must sleep now darling Everything's alright
Lullaby my baby As the nighttime falls Through the dreams you're sailing Facing shadows bravely Keeping every moment In your heart and soul
Lullaby my baby As I watch you sleep I remember dreaming How I'll have you with me Now you're here darling And my world's complete
This is a video that was created with photos by Erica for her youtube channel using a Mommy's Lullaby, which was written and sung by "Teeh" (Tanya Manibusan.)
Said, Baby, Mommy loves you, I wouldn't know what I'd do, without you.
Said, Mommy loves you, I wouldn't know what to do, if I was to lose you.
Said, Baby, listen, Me said the very first day, I held you in my arms, I knew, that I had to change my ways, and keep you safe from harm.
Oh, yea, when you smile it makes my life worth while, and worth living, so every night I pray, and thank the Lord that you're my blessing.
My baby boy, you're my everything, and Mommy loves you, my pride and joy, Mommy loves you, my baby boy, and later on in this life, you'll hear this song, it's called, Mommy's lullaby,
Me said, Mommy loves you, my pride and joy, Mommy loves you, my baby boy, later on in this life, you'll hear this song, it's called, Mommy's lullaby.
Let me tell ya something, I know that I'm still young, and some people like to judge what they see, well, I am gonna raise you good, Oh, just you wait and see, 'cause Mommy loves you.
My pride and joy, Mommy loves you, My baby boy, and later on in this life, you'll hear this song it's called, Mommy's Lullaby,
I said, Mommy loves you, my pride and joy, Mommy loves you, my baby boy, and later on in this life, you'll hear this song, it's called Mommy's Lullaby.
You'll hear this song, it's called Mommy's Lullaby.
Said, Mommy loves you. I wouldn't know what I'd do, without you.
Said, Mommy loves you, I wouldn't know what to do, if I was to lose you.

Psalms 121: 1,6,7
I lift up my eyes to the hills where does my help come from?
... The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm, he will watch over your life.
Lullaby-
I know the journey is long but this distance can only make me stronger I know there will be tears and smiles and fears and I'll grow tired at times but I know you'll be by my side
So I will lift up my eyes to the sky where my help comes from, the only one, the God of love
the sun will not harm me by day nor the moon by night cause I know you'll keep an eye on me and watch over my life tuck me in good night hum your lullaby
I know the journey is long So I'll wait patiently for that day to come when I will lay eyes on the king I will laugh, and dance, and sing with you and you'll say "My child you've come a long way,
And every time you looked up and smiled I'd smile back, and every tear you shed I held in my hands And everyday, and every night I kept my eyes on you and tucked you in and sang good night and hummed my lullaby held you when you cried gave you piece of mind...
you're not alone you're not alone... never alone..."
This isn't really a song you'd sing to your children, but it does make me think of how important it is for us make sure there is someone to sing lullabies to our babes.
Lay me down gently, lay me down low, I fear I am broken and won't mend, I know. One thing I ask when the stars light the skies, Who now will sing me lullabies, Oh who now will sing me lullabies.
In this big world I'm lonely, for I am but small, Oh angels in heaven, don't you care for me at all? You heard my heart breaking for it rang through the skies, So why don't you sing me lullabies, Oh why don't you sing me lullabies.
I lay here; I'm weeping for the stars they have come, I lay here not sleeping; now the long night has begun. The man in the moon, oh he can't help but cry, For there's no one to sing me lullabies, Oh there's no one to sing me lullabies.
So lay me down gently, oh lay me down low, I fear I am broken and won't mend, I know . One thing I ask when the stars light the skies, Who now will sing me lullabies, Oh who now will sing me lullabies.
Who will sing me to sleep Who will sing me to sleep Who will sing me to sleep Who will sing me to sleep
Midnight moonlight shining through the curtain lace Paints a perfect picture on your perfect face One sweet angel sleeping in my arms You are the promise I knew God would keep You are the gift that makes my world complete
And you'll never know how much I love you But I'll keep on telling you my whole life through Now I believe in miracles, and you're the reason why So dream on while I sing you my angel's lullaby
My favorite quote from Sarah Plain and Tall: Of their prospective step-mother Caleb asks, "Does she sing?" The reply, "Tell Caleb I sing."
Singing. Do we recognize this as an essential part of mothering? Caleb didn't ask, "Does she sing WELL?" Only, "Does she sing?" Sing to your children mothers, even during pregnancy, no matter if you are talented or not.
With practice you will see improvement, but regardless, to your babes you will sound like an angel.
Don't be afraid to sing for your children! They will love hearing you sing no matter how well (or poorly) YOU think you sound. I know from experience. I cannot sing well yet my children look forward to me singing them traditional lullabies as well as songs that I make up.
Over the years I have developed such a love for music, that I have written my own songs and lullabies. It is my dream to create a CD to inspire mothers through music. I believe music is special and moves us unlike any other art medium.
During pregnancy (and mothering) music is an important means of feeling peaceful and fostering spirituality as music moves the innermost part of our being. It releases us from our cares, takes us to far away places in the space of time and imagination as it vibrates within our heart, body, and mind. It soothes our worries and fills us with hope and faith as we feel the light of the Spirit fill our souls (particularly when we praise God through song.)
Please visit our sister site, Homespun Lullaby, to hear audio clips of spiritual songs and lullabies that I have written.
My Tip For You
Having trouble remembering all of a lullaby? It's okay to only sing part of it! There is no rule that you have to know all of a song in order to sing it. Just sing your favorite part and you can even make up your own words!
